01. challenge
Upton Serviced Residence, a premium development in Kuching, required a reliable waterproofing system to ensure long-term protection for both its internal wet areas and exposed podium deck. The project demanded a solution that could withstand continuous exposure to water and weather while remaining safe for indoor application. In line with modern sustainability standards, the developer also emphasized the use of eco-friendly, low-VOC, and water-based materials to create a healthier living environment.
02. solution
Dritech Chemicals supplied a combination of advanced waterproofing systems tailored to each area’s needs. The internal wet areas were treated with Dri-Lastic WP 20, a flexible, water-based waterproofing membrane that provides superior protection against water leakages. Its green-coloured finishing also allows easy QA/QC to ensure sufficient consumption at all areas.
For the podium area, which is exposed to weather and thermal movement, Super Lastic S800 (High Build System) was selected for its high elasticity, UV resistance, and long-lasting durability. Both systems are environmentally friendly, easy to apply, and compatible with subsequent finishing layers.
