01. THE CHALLENGE :

The Bukit Jalil LRT Station, originally donning a similar design and ambience with other LRT stations, was to receive a facelift in conjunction with the 2017 SEA Games and the renovation of the National Sports Complex as KL Sports City. The revamp features colourful and vibrant graphics, sports symbolisms, and inspirational quotes all over the station. The existing tiled floor was to be painted to emulate a relay track, with the faregates acting as the end/beginning of the painted track.

02. Proposed Solution :

Tiles are naturally unabsorbant materials & require a suitable primer in order to increase the bonding of epoxy floor coatings onto it. Dri-Floor EP 1050, an epoxy-based primer specifically formulated for application over tiles, was used directly over the tiles, followed by Dri-Floor EP System. This was done in various colours to create the relay track pattern all across.
